To solve these problems, MAGEON desert-adapted steel track undercarriage is specially designed for this market.
First, high-temperature resistant alloy steel. We use special alloy steel that can maintain hardness of HRC 55 under 60℃ working temperature. Standard steel will drop to HRC 40 under 50℃, but our alloy steel keeps the hardness, so the wear resistance is 2 times that of standard steel.
Second, triple-layer dust-proof seals. All bearings and rollers are equipped with triple-layer dust-proof seals, which can prevent fine sand from entering. We tested this: in the desert environment, the standard roller fails after 6 months, but our sealed roller can work for 12 months without problem.
Third, widened track shoes. We widened the track shoes by 25%, reducing ground pressure to 0.07MPa, which prevents sinking in soft desert sand. A Saudi contractor told us: “Before, my drilling rig got stuck in the sand at least once a week. After using MAGEON’s widened tracks, I never had that problem.”
