The New EU Noise Regulation for Construction Machinery
The EU has updated its noise regulation for construction machinery in 2026, requiring that compact construction equipment working in urban areas must have operating noise below 80dB, down from the previous 85dB. This new regulation is to protect residents from noise pollution, and it will be enforced from 2027. For manufacturers, this means they have to upgrade their products to meet the new standard, otherwise they can’t sell their machines in the EU market.
Traditional rubber tracks often have high noise when running on hard road. The noise comes from two parts: first, the metal impact between track links and the metal core, when the track hits the ground, the metal parts collide, making loud noise. Second, the friction between the track and the hard pavement, which also makes noise. Traditional rubber tracks usually have a running noise of 83dB, which can’t meet the new standard.

How MAGEON Developed the Silent Rubber Track
To meet the new standard, MAGEON optimized the track structure and material after 12 months of R&D.
First, we added shock-absorbing rubber pads between the track links and the metal core. These pads can absorb the impact vibration, reducing the metal impact noise by 12dB. We tested this: the impact noise dropped from 78dB to 66dB after adding the pads.
Second, we optimized the rubber formula. We added damping materials to the rubber, which can reduce the vibration when the track hits the ground, and also reduce the friction noise on hard pavement.
Third, we polished the surface of the track shoes. The smooth surface reduces the friction between the track and the pavement, further reducing the friction noise.

The Test Result: Fully Meet the New Standard
After the optimization, we did a noise test in our professional lab. The result is that MAGEON’s silent rubber track undercarriage can reduce the total machine noise to 78dB, which is 2dB lower than the new EU standard. It fully meets the regulation requirement.
